Example: 1,000 smokers

One smoker finishes 64 raw kelp in 5 minutes and 20 seconds. That is 0.2 raw kelp a second. One thousand smokers, all fed and all lit, take 200 raw kelp a second. An hour of that is 720,000 raw kelp.

Dried kelp is crafted nine to a block, so the hour is 80,000 dried kelp blocks. This example sells the block at 750$. Gross is 80,000 × 750 = 60,000,000$ an hour. Raw kelp is not sold in this run.

Growing that kelp spends about one bone block per nine raw kelp. The measured ratio on this site is 160,000 bone blocks for 1,439,856 raw kelp, which for this hour is 80,008 bone blocks. At 500$ a bone block, the bone cost is 40,004,000$.

Cooking uses charcoal, 8 per stack of 64, which is 90,000 charcoal an hour. At 90$ each, fuel is 8,100,000$. Blaze rods are left off, so they add nothing.

Net is the block sale minus both costs: 60,000,000$ − 40,004,000$ − 8,100,000$ = 11,896,000$ an hour. A day is that figure times 24. If the smokers are short of kelp, the hour is smaller. 200 a second is the full feed, not a guess.

A module that only makes 14.4 raw kelp a second keeps about 72 smokers busy. The other 928 of this example stay empty, and the net above does not apply until the kelp going in is actually 200 a second.

In the kelp calculator, set smokers to 1000, turn bone blocks and charcoal on, and use 500 and 90. Leave blaze off. The dried block price in this example is 750.
